Wills

Your will is a legal document in which you direct who receives your property, becomes guardian of your children and their property, and who will carry out your estate plan at your death. After your death, you only have one opportunity to get in front of contentious or painful situations that can carry emotional or financial tolls on your loved ones. Some examples include: blended families, varying gift amounts, business interests, complex tax situations, and other special needs.

In Ohio, only a properly executed will complying with all statutory formalities is valid. This means that handwritten wills, those not properly witnessed, and those failing to account for specific scenarios will not properly carry out your wishes.

There is no hard and fast rule for who needs a will because every situation is unique. For a better understanding of whether you need a will and how it will fit within your estate place, call 440.429.2974 for a free consultation.
